Spending time by the ocean is one of my favorite things to do and when the kids have a day off school, we often find ourselves exploring Malibu. Today’s #TravelTuesday post is about the fun and great food you can have on the Malibu Pier. We frequent the Malibu Farm for breakfast or lunch because we love their fresh, organic menu items and of course, THE VIEW!
Once on the pier, there are actually two different places to eat. The Malibu Farm Restaurant is at the start of the pier and is a full service place w/ a full bar, open for lunch & dinner (I have not eaten here yet). If you walk to the back of the pier, overlooking the Pacific is The Malibu Farm Cafe which is a counter service restaurant open for breakfast & lunch. We have eaten here a few times and have always had a good experience.
The cafe does not take reservations and the line can get quite long, but there is plenty of seating inside and out once you order your food. The kids keep busy by playing with sports balls and various toys set up for them, looking through the telescope, walking around the pier, and watching the surfers and sport fishermen. You can even rent fishing rods and bait if you want to give it a try yourself. The food has always been delicious (my kids especially love the fresh squeezed orange juice), and the staff kind and helpful. The cafe has a mellow vibe, and nothing beats that fresh ocean air!
