This holiday season has been busier than any other I can remember and I’m still not done. Usually by this time I’ve made dozens of holiday cookies and have them in the freezer waiting to be put on pretty trays and handed out. NOPE, not this year! I can’t seem to get ahead, and have yet to make one homemade treat. The plan is to bake tomorrow, but we’ll see what happens. Despite my lack of baking, I’ve still been responsible for bringing treats to various parties and occasions, so I’ve now mastered the “Store-Bought Confections Charcuterie Board!” Today I’m sharing how easy and fast it is to throw together a beautiful and delicious dessert tray, without baking a thing.
All of the things on my charcuterie boards were purchased at Trader Joe’s, except the candy canes and a few other holiday candies that can be found at your local grocery store or Target. For your convenience, at the bottom of this post I’ve included a printable version of all the treats used in these photos.
There’s no right way to organize a dessert tray. My method is to open all the packages and just start putting little piles of each thing all over my boards. My charcuterie boards never look the same twice… just use your imagination!
PRO TIP #1: Keep any loose candies, like M&Ms, fully surrounded by other items so they don’t roll off the boards.
PRO TIP #2: Always provide little tongs or other serving pieces so people don’t have to put their hands all over everything to grab what they like.
